Today we are going to remember the grape harvest at Château de Targé with its owner, Paul.
October 2021
My Paul is from Saumur.
It doesn't look that high on the map, but it's still well north 😂.
Go see the Loire, it's great! Especially by train, you can take the time to discover France. My itinerary included a connection in Vierzon, I listened to Jacques Brel while waiting.
In short, there they make Cabernet Franc as well as Ch'nin, and not Chenin (or Cheuning' as they would say in #Béziers).
There was my Paul, my (closed) Holy Father, my Mentor, my executioner 😂.
And believe me, I wasn't there for tourism:
Picked up by his wife after a 9-hour train ride on a Saturday afternoon (departure 7 a.m. Toulouse).
He will have me exhausted for 7 days.
But above all, I learned everything, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. non-stop.
Since then, he has been many other things: the confidant of the winemaker's dark hours, the seed that made the red Cinsault germinate...But above all, he has become my friend.
The guy came to get some Vitamin D for 5 days at the @MillésimeBio show in #Montpellier, Hall B3 stand 1346!
Just in time, I had finished my stock of Clos Saint Père , a highly addictive vintage that I highly recommend!
